He is the chief executive officer of Denton’s Nextlaw Global Public Affairs Network. He is a communications and public affairs professional with more than 30 years of experience. Paul advised late Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto from 2001 through 2006, assisting with her complex relationship with the administration of President George W. Bush. Paul also served as pro bono political counsel to the Kurdistan Regional Government from 2005 until 2008, during the height of the Iraq War. In 2006, Paul helped organize a pro bono engagement at his law firm on behalf of the National Coalition Government of the Union of Burma, the then government-in-exile of Myanmar (formerly Burma). In addition to his work for eight years in a large international law firm, Paul worked as a senior consultant to the largest lobbying firm in Washington where he built a national referral network of law and lobbying firms. He served for two years in the United States Army and for 10 years in the Army’s Reserve Forces.
